Residency project:“While in residence at Atelier Circulaire, I will make photo-engravings with digital stills extracted from stop-motion animation. I am interested in this project as a means of slowing down time and bringing the physical handmade object back into closer relationship with digital video – taking an ephemeral/memory image and giving it back its body. By isolating and printing individual frames I will be pulling the animation undone and teasing out its constituent parts to allow the viewer’s eyes to rest on individual images again. ”
