Tourner à vide

MARC A. REINHARDT & GUILLERMO TREJO

Exhibition
June 9 - July 16, 2022

Tourner à vide assembles a series of works by Marc A. Reinhardt and Guillermo Trejo that divert works and gestures that have implemented the modernist ideology of progress.

Starting from the negative gesture of engraving, in other words the subtractive work of the material, the works presented deactivate the formal principles to which they refer in order to open them up to new uses. How to make to turn to vacuum constraining structures, even hegemonic, without that this gesture of destitution does not produce a form of inertia?
