How can you create a shape, texture, or relief without using a printing press?
In connection with Amélie Brisson-Darveau’s exhibition Résister le pli, Atelier Circulaire invites you to an experimental, hands-on activity on Saturday, September 26th, from 2 to 4 pm, open to everyone, exploring a variety of manual embossing techniques.
Using paper, cardboard, and a range of materials, you will be invited to press, indent, and shape surfaces to create your own relief compositions. Inspired by the artist’s exploration of shadow, light, and impressions, this workshop offers an opportunity to observe how textures transform surfaces and reveal themselves under different lighting conditions.
Participants are welcome to bring shapes or small, flat objects whose impressions they would like to reproduce, as well as a rolling pin or flashlight, if they have one. Materials will also be provided on site.
No previous experience is required. Come experiment freely with materials, light, and relief!
