Thanks to the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, as part of the Indigenous Residency Program, Atelier Circulaire is pleased to welcome Inuk artist Mary Paningajak for a second time for a three-week creative residency.

Originally from Ivujivik, in Nunavik, Mary Paningajak is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses printmaking, jewelry, graphic arts, and sculpture. She regularly travels to Montreal and, in 2023, gave a talk at Atelier Circulaire about the realities of practicing printmaking in Nunavik.

She is also the first artist to inaugurate the exhibition space of the new Sanaaq Community and Cultural Centre in Montreal, with her solo exhibition Sikutsajaq, which opened on May 15, 2025.

Although already skilled in linocut, this residency offers her a valuable opportunity to explore intaglio printmaking alongside Paule Mainguy, a medium she wishes to deepen in order to enrich her practice and further develop her technical skills in printmaking.
