PROGRAMMING 2026-2027

THE CALL IS OPENS!

DEADLINE, FEBRUARY 1, 2026

Atelier Circulaire (AC) invites artists, collectives, and curators to submit an exhibition proposal for its 2026–2027 programming (from September 2026 to June 2027). This call is open to professional visual artists at all stages of their careers (emerging, mid-career, or established), and welcomes submissions from artists based in Québec, Canada, and internationally.

While remaining rooted in traditional printmaking techniques, AC seeks to explore new directions in the field of print arts in order to push the boundaries of the discipline and redefine its role within contemporary artistic practices. The programming prioritizes hybrid projects that combine printmaking with innovative techniques such as installation, new technologies, and interactions between traditional and contemporary forms.

For this call, Atelier Circulaire is particularly interested in projects that reflect new aesthetic languages. These may incorporate mediums such as sculptural installation, three-dimensional formats, or video and sound. Exhibitions may engage with contemporary themes—including environmental and identity-related issues—by proposing interdisciplinary combinations involving sculpture, performance, textiles, engineering, and audiovisual practices. Projects may also explore eco-responsible methodologies, rethinking modes of printmaking within an expanded context, and examining personal, collective, or family narratives.

The six-week exhibitions will offer the public innovative frameworks that blend digital and organic approaches, addressing the aesthetic, conceptual, and technical issues of print arts.

In summary, proposals must :

  • Demonstrate a potential for opening up and crossing boundaries with other disciplines.
  • Integrate new technologies with traditional printmaking techniques.
  • Promote the vitality and diversity of printmaking forms.
  • Expand the field of printmaking through interdisciplinary projects.
