Les œuvres de Luce Meunier sont travaillées à partir de contraintes volontairement préétablies qui sont avant tout les témoins d’une recherche et d’une exploration de stratégies plastiques et picturales. Dans ses expérimentations techniques profondément novatrices, elle ne cherche plus à dominer la matière mais, à la manière de l’alchimiste, l’observe et la sublime, la contrôle mais la laisse vivre dans toute son imprévisibilité. Sa démarche favorise une approche formelle, qui intègre les notions de travail, de temps et les outils de production. Luce Meunier vit et travaille à Montréal. Ses œuvres ont été récemment exposées à la Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran (Montréal), à la Galerie R3 de l’UQTR (Trois-Rivières), chez Christie Contemporary (Toronto), à la Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina), chez Birch Libralato (Toronto) et au Centre d’exposition Plein Sud (Longueuil). Elle fut finaliste au Concours de Peintures Canadiennes RBC en 2006 et a participé ces dernières années aux résidences d’artistes du Camac centre d’art (France) et du Banff Centre (Alberta). Luce Meunier est représentée par la Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran. Elle est membre associée de l’Atelier Circulaire.

Luce Meunier approaches her artworks through a process involving predetermined voluntary constraints inherently defined by the research and exploration of plastic and pictorial strategies. In the course of her deeply innovative technical experimentations, rather than trying to dominate matter, she aims to observe and transcend it, as would an alchemist, in control yet letting it be totally unpredictable. She favours a formal approach which integrates the notions of work and time, and the tools required for production. Luce Meunier lives and works in Montreal. Her artworks have recently been exhibited at the Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran (Montreal), at the UQTR Galerie R3 (Trois-Rivières), at Christie Contemporary (Toronto), at the Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina), at Birch Libralato (Toronto) and at the Centre d’exposition Plein Sud (Longueuil). She was a finalist in the RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2006 and, these past few years, has taken part in artist residencies at the Camac centre d’art (France) and the Banff Centre (Alberta). Luce Meunier is represented by Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran. She is an associate member of Atelier Circulaire.
